At Vero Beach Elementary, the PTA is dedicated to unlocking every child’s potential by fostering a strong partnership between families, teachers, and the community. Our initiatives aim to create meaningful change at the local, state, and national levels, advocating for the issues that matter most to your child. Together, we strive to build a stronger, more diverse, and inclusive school community, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Tired of the same old meetings? So are we. This year, the Vero Beach Elementary PTA is shaking things up! We’ll have just 4 general meetings, followed by interest-based focus groups. You get to choose where and how you’d like to volunteer!

2024/2025 Officers

Sarah Leopold
President
Sarah Leopold’s passion and dedication to our school community are evident in everything she does. As our new PTA President, she is excited to welcome all our families back to campus, help grow our PTA, and inspire a love of reading among all our students. Her enthusiasm and commitment promise to make this year an extraordinary one for our VBE community!
This year, Sarah is celebrating her 20th year in education as an Instructional Specialist with The Learning Alliance. Mrs. Leopold, alongside her husband, has three children who will be attending VBHS, SGMS, and a first grader here at VBE. She loves spending time on the water with her family and is an avid reader.

Brittany Walsh
Vice-President 1
Brittany is rejoining the VBE PTA as Vice President, bringing valuable networking connections and business support through IRC Movers. Her boundless energy and drive command respect and foster strong collaborations with local businesses to enhance children’s learning experiences.
As a mother of three, Brittany understands firsthand the critical importance of student learning for future success. Her commitment to supporting educational excellence and community partnerships makes her an inspiring and effective leader for our PTA.

Simone Bueno
Vice President 2
Since becoming a VBE parent, Simone has been a dedicated member of the school community.
First elected PTA President in 2020 and re-elected in 2021, her passion for parental involvement remains strong. Both her children have thrived at VBE since starting their educational journeys. Audrey is now a fourth grader, and Thomas has successfully transitioned to middle school.
Simone’s commitment to the PTA stems from her desire to be actively involved in her children’s education. She strives to be a voice for all VBE parents and a bridge between the school and the families it serves.

Sandra Koehn
Treasurer
Sandra has served as the PTA Treasurer for five years, meticulously managing all funds and bank statements with unparalleled attention to detail. Her expertise in financial oversight will be a tremendous asset as she steps into the role of Vice President.
As a grandmother to several VBE students, Sandra has developed a deep, collaborative relationship with our staff, teachers, and the IRC PTA. Her commitment extends beyond our school community; she is also a passionate advocate for veterans, dedicating her time to support The Victory Center at the mall. Sandra’s experience and dedication make her an invaluable member of our PTA leadership team.

Juelie Perry-Schwartz
Recording Secretary
Juelie Perry has been a dedicated member of the VBE PTA since 2020, serving as Recording Secretary and championing the needs of children and families through her work with Safe Families of the Treasure Coast. Known affectionately as “Mimi” to one of VBE’s students, Juelie is deeply committed to fostering strong partnerships between VBE staff and families.
Her passion for creating a supportive and collaborative environment is driven by her unwavering commitment to ensuring every student’s success. With 4 decades of teaching experience, Juelie continues to work tirelessly to bridge connections and build a thriving community at VBE.
